The uneasy feeling again

Uncertainty

And like every other person,

I wish,

Things were simpler

Like days of yore

The days of catching

Dragonflies

of happy faces and smiling eyes

The days that are

But lost to me

When I was childlike and free

But the winds were strong
And things went wrong.
And silently they drifted
Before they dared.

Now alone he walks, an empty heart
He seeks a place to hide.
Her face is gone, but still he sees
Her walking by his side.

A long and dark night

Its a long and dark night. A row of emotions weighs heavily on his soul. Restless, he shifts in bed again. Knowledge perhaps is too great a burden to bear. But how can he ask not to know, not to feel, not to care, not to love? For love alone is what keeps him moving. At least the hope of it.

But tonight he knows she is pulling afar. The weight on his heart, the mysterious suffocation, those random pangs of sorrow, desperation, despair and misery are clear enough signs. He knows.

But more than that he is thinking, was she ever near? Even for a beat of a heart. Did she smile and mean it? The world is a stage, everyone living their own lies. But did she live a moment of truth with him? Will he ever know for sure?

Restless, he shifts in his bed again. The morning prayers will begin soon. He is waiting. A row of emotions weighing heavy on his soul. It’s a long and dark night.
